Key Outcomes

  • Delivered 600,000 sq ft of integrated life sciences and workplace environment in San Francisco
  • Designed modular laboratory clusters enabling phased reconfiguration without structural disruption
  • Achieved regulatory compliance across all controlled research zones
  • Created workplace environments that support scientific talent recruitment and retention

A landmark life sciences campus in San Francisco delivering state-of-the-art laboratory environments, collaborative research zones, and high-performance workplace infrastructure across 600,000 square feet.

This landmark life sciences campus was designed to accommodate the full spectrum of modern research activity from highly controlled laboratory environments to open collaborative workspaces that foster cross-disciplinary innovation. The scale of the project demanded rigorous spatial zoning and infrastructure coordination to ensure each zone operated independently while remaining interoperable.

The design integrated wet and dry laboratory configurations with flexible support zones, enabling research programs to evolve without requiring disruptive structural changes. Each lab cluster was treated as a self-contained module with dedicated MEP infrastructure, allowing the facility to scale as organizational needs change.

Workplace environments designed for the non-laboratory population were developed with equal rigor balancing natural light access, acoustic performance, and collaborative adjacency to create an environment that attracts and retains world-class scientific talent.
